The Sanatorium Lake is located in Macedon Ranges. It is a 250 meter walk from the car park. You can see largely Australian native plants shrubs and trees everywhere. There are also trail links with the 29 km Macedon Ranges Walking Trail, which includes much of Macedon Ranges scenic highlights, including Camels Hump, Memorial Cross and lookouts with outstanding views to Port Philip Bay, the You Yangs and the Dandenong Ranges. Historically, the Sanatorium Lake was built in 1899 to provide water to a hospital specialising in treating Tuberculosis, which was never built.
